Moon?

Pluto has some very interesting moon. Naturally (Like most planets) the moon is smaller then the planet. Pluto's moon is - Well, lets put it this way, if you wanted to stuff Earth with it's moon then you could fit 50 of Earth's moon. Now, Pluto cam only fit 6 of it's moon!

Kuiper belt

The Kuiper (ky'pur) belt is like a asteroid belt excepted that it is around the  the solar system! Since Pluto is the farthest planet from the sun, it's closest to the Kuiper belt.  That's how some of the rocks got the nickname "little Plutos."
The Kuiper belt was named after Gerald Kuiper, the man who first man to guess about the existence of Kuiper belt. I say guessed because, in those days, he could not see if he was correct.
This was a idea for 40 years until 1992, when a large object was discovered in part of the solar system where Gerald had said the Kuiper belt was. Several other objects were found quickly and the idea became a part of the solar system !

Neptune time

It takes one year for the Sun to go around the Earth and it takes 164 years for the sun to go around Neptune!!
Because Neptune is so far from the Sun, Neptune's temperature is around 370 degrees below zero.
Any spacecraft that could (probably never) travel to Neptune would be (let me say that again  " Any spacecraft that could travel to Neptune wouldn't have men/women in it because of the temperature, the gas, and the ZERO amount of oxygen. In other words, if a person was on a space craft to Neptune then it would be suicide.)  Later, Micah

Neptune is some times the farthest planet from the Sun!!!!
Why?
Because Pluto's (planet number 8) orbit is big and because of this, Neptune is planet8 for 20 years!Poster, Art Print Of Mad Neptune

Finding Uranus

Poster, Art Print Of Planet Uranus Holding A Sign            The people who found Uranus was a boy named William an a girl named Caroline. When they were studying comets with a telescope they so something blue, that was Uranus!!! They were excited and    studied it for months, after a while they saw that it was rotating, which only planets do.  Guess what happens when you find a planet? You get to  name it. At first a person Herschel wanted to name Uranus after King George the third. Not everyone likes King George so they wanted him to name it after himself "Planet Herschel. " In the end they decided to keep the tradition and name it after a Roman god, Uranus.

Jupiter

Their are 24 hours in a day.
On Jupiter, one day is 10 hours!!!
Why?
 Because Jupiter rotates faster than
Earth, meaning it has less days in a  year.

P.S The most interesting thing I've learned in Astronomy is.................. Still working on that part!!!!!

Space rocks

Comets orbit around the Sun like planets. They have VERY big orbit space or, if you don't understand that,
just think orbiting as boundaries. But some times
They go out of orbit and hit other planets which gives them holes.
Poster, Art Print Of Flaming Asteroid Flying Through A Black SkySo next time you see a shooting star, think "Is that really a shooting star or a comet out of orbit!?

Did you know that a comet has a invisible force around it called a Coma??

Mars part 3

Did you know that Mars could have had life??
I say that because it rovers have found frozen liquid.
One of the two rovers found traces mineral that ( on Earth) forms liquid.
It is important to realize that when I say life I mean nature like plants.
God made Earth perfect and that's the way I like it!!

Mars part 2

If you had a cheap idea and live on Mars now you probably are puzzled.
Why are you puzzled?
Because Mars has two moons!!! There names are Phobos (foh' boh) and Deimos (dee' mohs.)
You know when the moon blocks the Sun?? The Deimos and Phobos are to small so they can only block
part of the Sun. So when so go on Mars don't forget to stay up and look at this amazing sight.

Mars part 1

Did you know that we might live on Mars someday.
What if we moved to a planet named Mars? It would cost a lot of money to because of problems like oxygen. Scientists solve that problem by making a huge green house which would cost around 123,000,00
Even if we had a green house how would we fit it in a space craft plus  food and water.

Can you think of a cheap way of getting and living on Mars?
