Elaphants

Elephants. Strong.Mighty. Big. These amazing animals swing their 200 lb trunks around and their predators. Scary to think about. Also in Asia, they used these giant creatures to fight wars. They rode them into battle like a horse, except much bigger.

Pet bugs

Here is something you can do!

Catch a bug. Put lots of plants in its cage. Also, put the cage in a warm spot. Insects are cold blooded, meaning if their surroundings are cold, they are cold! Name your bug and as I go through this section, study your bug!

Kuiper belt

The Kuiper (ky'pur) belt is like a asteroid belt excepted that it is around the  the solar system! Since Pluto is the farthest planet from the sun, it's closest to the Kuiper belt.  That's how some of the rocks got the nickname "little Plutos."
The Kuiper belt was named after Gerald Kuiper, the man who first man to guess about the existence of Kuiper belt. I say guessed because, in those days, he could not see if he was correct.
This was a idea for 40 years until 1992, when a large object was discovered in part of the solar system where Gerald had said the Kuiper belt was. Several other objects were found quickly and the idea became a part of the solar system !

Ben Franklin, A man that Helped with the newspaper

When Ben (His real name is Benjamin but I use Ben, his nickname) was 15 his brother started the first newspaper, The New England Courant, Ben wanted to start a newspaper too. Unfortunately he knew his brother (whose name is James) would never let him, since Ben was only an apprentice. So Ben began to sneak letters to the door of the print shop at night so nobody knew he had written them. He signed the letters with the name Silence Dogood. They were a smash hit and soon all the town people wanted to know who was this mysterious Silence Dogood.

After 16 letters Ben confessed that he had been writing them all along. While James’s friends thought Ben was precious and funny, James was jealous of all the attention Ben got and scolded him.

A little while later James was thrown in jail and Ben wrote several copies in The New England Courant during this time. When James was released from jail, he was not happy that Ben had kept the paper going and beat often. After a while Ben could not take it any longer and ran away in 1721.
